Welcome to tots2teens
Childcare Services Sussex

Tots2teens Childcare Services offers daytime, after school and overnight care for children aged from newborn to 13 years.

As a parent one of the most important decisions you will ever make is to choose the right childcare for the individual needs of your child.

At Tots2teens we provide quality care for children in a clean, safe, secure and caring environment. We encourage all the children in our care to learn through play and to grow with an understanding and respect for others.

You can contact Amanda by phone or email, she will be happy to answer any questions that you may have. Alternatively you can visit her personally, by prior appointment, in order that you can view the setting and the facilities we have to offer.

Tots2teens offers all funding from 9 months to 4 years; we work in partnership with our local authority, East Sussex County Council.

I request a voluntary fee for all funded children of £3 per child per funded day. This charge is entirely voluntary and not a requirement for the use of my services. The £3 voluntary payment contributes to membership fees for organisations such as Drusillas, Paradise Park, National Trust, Newhaven Fort, RHS Wisley, cheeky wipes, toilet wipes, tissues and visits to Hope Springs smallholding.

At Tots2teens we implement documented policies and procedures, which are regularly updated and amended where necessary. These policies and procedures enable us to provide the utmost safety for all children within our care.

We accommodate the Government funded Early Years provision for 9-month, 2 year, 3-and-4 year-old children (who meet the criteria provided by East Sussex County Council).

I request a voluntary fee for all funded children of £3 per child per funded day. This charge is entirely voluntary and not a requirement for the use of my services. Our Activities

We provide the children in our care the opportunity to take part in a wide range of activities. Home based activities include, group play, messy play, role play and dressing up. At Tots2teens we encourage structured group activities such as reading, singing, circle time, ‘What’s in the box?’ baking and playing in the garden.

Although it is important to create a sense of security and undertake activities in the home, we feel it is essential to expand social skills, to stimulate inquisitive minds and to entertain and meet new people. To achieve these aims we attend organised children/baby groups, visit farms, soft play areas, recreation grounds, the library, music and singing and many more events; all of which take place within easy reach of the areas that we are based.

We often take the children for walks locally. We believe in providing them opportunities to explore and gain knowledge of the world around them, this includes the importance of respect for wildlife and the environment. We try to instil the belief that fresh air and exercise is good for them to maintain a happy and healthy life.

We encourage our children to grow vegetables at our local allotment, which encourages them to try new foods and learn the importance of healthy eating.

We encourage the children to clean their teeth at the setting, using their own toothbrush. This encourages independence and life skills.

We encourage our children to shop for items needed to make recipes in the setting, using shopping bags and money to pay for the goods.

All outings and activities are risked assessed and linked with the Early Years Foundation Stage learning journal.

We plan, observe and assess the children on a regular basis in accordance with the seven areas of learning set out by Ofsted:

  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development

  • Communication and language

  • Physical Development

  • Literacy

  • Mathematics

  • Knowledge and Understanding of the World

  • Expressive arts and design

We ensure the children in our settings feel secure by providing a caring environment with carefully planned and structured adult and child led activities. This enables the children to grow in confidence and learn through play to achieve the goals outlined above.
